Cultural agenda in Spain (2nd edition)
The Club Europe returns to Andalusia, from the Alhambra to the white villages
Second edition of the cultural agenda with IES Puerta del Mar: guided visit of Almuñécar by the Spanish students, the Alhambra and the white villages of Andalusia, shared classes and comparison of administrative management practices.
The project
The group stayed at the Costa Tropical hotel, by the sea, close to the school; the hotel team congratulated the students on their behaviour and education. Rigorous budget management even allowed an extra outing at the end of the stay.
Staff compared educational and administrative systems: Spanish school days from 8:15 am to 2:45 pm centred on oral practice, teachers’ dual roles (subject + administrative function), headship and management voted by the school council for four years.
For the students: learning through play, attending history, mathematics and music classes in a foreign language, small groups, flipped classrooms and autonomy in learning.
Continued in 2024-2025, the project widened its agenda to the school’s citizenship weeks and to the key moments shared with the hosted partners.
