Cultural agenda in Spain
A Guadeloupean cultural agenda shared with Andalusia
Sixteen students engaged in a re-engagement pathway built a cultural agenda of Guadeloupe: markets, concerts, rum distilleries, ACTe memorial: then brought it to life in Andalusia with the IES Puerta del Mar in Almuñécar.
The project
The culinary and artistic cultural agenda, month by month, was designed at school then presented to the Spanish counterparts: Sainte-Anne market, Gwoka festival, ACTe memorial, Schœlcher museum, beaches and towns of Guadeloupe.
In Almuñécar, the host school created peer-exchange moments: escape game, orienteering: and the group discovered the Spanish organisation: guidance service led by a full-time psychologist, 30-minute sports breaks, outdoor classes, weekly musical bells.
The stay strengthened group cohesion, the sense of European belonging and speaking practice in Spanish and English; it also inspired the “outdoor class” project of Lycée Yves Leborgne.
The re-engagement pathway built its bilingual cultural agenda month by month: choice of events, writing of notices in Spanish and weekly preparations with the IES Puerta del Mar.

In detail
- Group: 16 students in re-mobilisation (+1), 2 accompanying teachers (CPE, school psychologist) and 1 staff member (history-geography); mobility from 19 to 29 April 2024.
- At the IES Puerta del Mar: weekly meeting of the guidance service, led by a full-time psychologist in the school.
- Thirty-minute breaks invested with sports time, tournaments refereed by teachers; a musical discovery ringtone changed every week.
- A project-based approach offered to all teams, with a theme voted every year by the students; outdoor classrooms to teach “outside”.
- Dual roles of staff (administration and teaching) and full-time specialised teachers supporting students in pairs with the other colleagues.
Crossed perspectives
The report notes, among the students of the re-engagement pathway, a renewed confidence and commitment born of the responsibility entrusted to them: designing, for their peers, a European cultural agenda.
Results and follow-up
Positive impact on school climate, new bonds between students and staff, imported inclusion practices (specialist teachers working in pairs, outdoor classes), stronger speaking practice in foreign languages.
